77TH REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATION

Our school celebrated Republic Day with great pride and enthusiasm. The programme began with a soulful prayer song, followed by a disciplined march past by the four school houses, showcasing unity, coordination, and team spirit. This was followed by the dignified flag hoisting ceremony. The celebration continued with an inspiring speech by our Chief Guest, who highlighted the values of the Constitution and encouraged students to be responsible citizens of the nation. The significance of Republic Day was then explained, reminding everyone of the ideals of democracy, equality, and unity. One of the major highlights of the programme was the cultural dance performance, beautifully depicting Unity in Diversity. Students presented vibrant state-wise dances, reflecting the rich cultural heritage of India. The celebration concluded on a joyful and patriotic note, making the occasion truly memorable for all.

Christmas Celebration

Our school celebrated Christmas on 23rd December with great joy and enthusiasm. The programme was graced by our respected Principal and Head Mistress. It began with a prayer song, followed by Christmas carol singing by both teachers and students, which created a festive atmosphere. Students presented a short talk explaining the significance of Christmas, highlighting the message of love, peace, and sharing. A special Christmas skit was also performed, making the celebration meaningful and enjoyable. The programme was well organised and truly memorable for everyone.

COOKING WITHOUT FIRE (V to IX)

The Cooking Without Fire Competition was successfully conducted for students of Classes V to IX across all schools. The event encouraged students to explore creativity, nutrition, and presentation skills without using fire. Participants prepared a variety of healthy and innovative dishes, demonstrating awareness of balanced diet, hygiene, and food safety. The competition provided hands-on learning and helped students understand the importance of nutritious food choices. Students displayed great enthusiasm and originality, making the event both engaging and educational.

SCIENCE ELOCUTION COMPETITION (I to IV)

To foster scientific thinking and communication skills among young learners, our school successfully conducted a Science Elocution Competition for students of Classes I to IV. The event provided a wonderful platform for children to express their understanding of basic scientific concepts through simple and confident speech. The participants spoke on science topics, highlighting the importance of science in daily life, nature, health, and technology. Despite their young age, the students showcased remarkable clarity, curiosity, and enthusiasm. The competition helped build confidence, improved public speaking skills, and encouraged an early interest in science. Teachers and judges appreciated the students’ efforts and encouraged them to continue exploring the world of science with curiosity and creativity. NUTRITION DAY (Nursery Section)

Nutrition Day was joyfully celebrated in the Nursery Section, making it a memorable and successful event. The tiny tots enthusiastically participated by bringing a variety of healthy and nutritious dishes. Through this activity, students learned about the importance of eating fresh, balanced food in a fun and engaging way. The celebration helped create awareness about good food habits at an early age and encouraged children to make healthy choices. The colourful display of dishes and the cheerful participation of students made the event lively and educational.

A Debate Competition was conducted in our school, providing students with a platform to express their opinions confidently and think critically. Participants presented strong arguments on both sides of the given topic, showcasing excellent communication skills, teamwork, and presence of mind. The event encouraged healthy competition and helped students develop clarity of thought and public-speaking abilities.

Handwriting Competition ( I to IV )

A Handwriting Competition for Classes 1– 4 was successfully organized to promote neatness and presentation in written work. Students enthusiastically showcased their handwriting skills by writing a given passage with accuracy and clarity. Winners were selected based on spacing, alignment, uniformity, and overall neatness. The event encouraged students to develop good writing habits and take pride in their work.

JO – FIESTA : A Successful Fundraising Event

Our school recently celebrated Jo – Fiesta, a vibrant and meaningful event organized for charity purposes. The occasion was not only enjoyable but also aimed at raising funds to support a noble cause. The event was beautifully organized, with many stalls offering a variety of fun activities, games, and treats. The success of the day was made possible with the active contribution of students, parents, and teachers, who enthusiastically participated in every aspect of the festival. The coordination and planning ensured everything ran smoothly, creating a lively and engaging atmosphere for everyone. Thanks to the collective effort of our school community, Jo – Fiesta turned out to be a truly successful and memorable event, fulfilling both its purpose of fundraising and spreading joy among all participants.

ANNUAL SPORTS MEET 2025 – 26

” GREEN CAMPUS BRIGHT CHAMPIONS “ Our school celebrated its Annual Sports Meet in a grand and memorable manner. The programme began with an impressive band performance followed by a beautiful band display. The students representing the four houses marched smartly towards the stage, showcasing discipline and teamwork. The arrival of the torch added a sense of pride and excitement to the event. The honourable Chief Guest Neole Anna Cornelio, International Athlete formally inaugurated the Sports Meet by releasing colourful balloons into the sky, symbolizing joy and celebration. The atmosphere was filled with applause and cheer as everyone welcomed the beginning of the special occasion. As this year marks the remarkable journey of our school towards the Diamond Jubilee, several cultural performances based on the theme “Green Campus, Clean Campus” were presented. The students performed energetic dances and displayed conveying the importance of a clean and eco-friendly environment. The event was a grand success with the presence of all the members from management, teachers, parents, and students who encouraged the participants. Overall, the Sports Meet not only promoted the spirit of sportsmanship but also showcased the talents and unity of our school community. It was truly a day to be remembered by all.

Children’s Day Celebrations

Our school celebrated Children’s Day with great joy and enthusiasm. The program began with offering flowers to Chacha Nehru (Jawaharlal Nehru), followed by a prayer song that created a warm and vibrant atmosphere. Our Treasurer, Rev. Fr. Naveen, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, along with our Principal and Headmistress. The event included a welcome speech and a talk on the significance of the day, reminding students of Nehru’s love and vision for children. A heartfelt greeting song was presented, after which all class teachers handed out greeting cards to their class monitors. The celebration continued with a delightful action song that captured everyone’s attention. Our Chief Guest then addressed the gathering with an inspiring guest speech. This was followed by a lively remix dance performance by the teachers, which became the highlight of the program and filled the hall with excitement. The event concluded with a sincere vote of thanks delivered by our School Captain. With everyone’s support and participation, the day turned out to be a memorable and successful Children’s Day celebration.

Kanakadasa Jayanti Celebration

Our school joyfully celebrated Kanakadasa Jayanti to honor the great saint, poet, and philosopher Sri Kanakadasa. The program began with a prayer song, creating a spiritual atmosphere. This was followed by a short speech on the significance of the day, highlighting Kanakadasa’s contributions to literature, music, and social harmony. As a mark of respect, flowers were offered to his portrait, remembering his message of devotion, equality, and moral values. The celebration inspired students to follow the path of truth, humility, and devotion shown by Kanakadasa.

Kannada Rajyotsava Celebration at Our School

Our school celebrated Kannada Rajyotsava with pride, joy, and cultural enthusiasm. The program began with a soulful prayer song, setting a graceful and respectful tone for the day. Students of different classes came together to showcase Karnataka’s rich heritage through a vibrant skit-cum-dance performance and inspiring character representations of great personalities who contributed to the state and the Kannada language. A special highlight of the event was the adorable performance by our Nursery children, who danced to popular bendekai, tondekai songs. Their cheerful expressions and enthusiastic moves brought smiles to everyone and added a touch of innocence and fun to the celebration. We were honored by the presence of our special guest Mr. Parameshwar G,  Kannada Lecturer, Base P.U. College, Mysuru  who spoke about the beauty, history, and importance of Kannada. His words encouraged everyone to value and promote our mother tongue with pride and responsibility. With enthusiastic participation, cultural pride, and joyful performances, the event concluded successfully. The celebration truly reflected our respect, love, and devotion towards Karnataka and the Kannada language.

FANCY DRESS COMPETITION (NURSERY)

The Nursery section of our school conducted a vibrant Fancy Dress Competition today, which turned out to be a joyful and memorable event. The tiny tots came dressed in a variety of creative and colorful costumes, representing different characters, professions, and themes. Each child confidently stepped onto the stage, showcasing their enthusiasm and imagination. The event not only provided a platform for our young learners to express themselves but also helped in building their confidence and public-speaking skills. The smiles, excitement, and innocence of our little ones filled the day with immense happiness. It was truly heartwarming to see the efforts of parents and teachers come together to make this event a grand success. The competition concluded with cheers and applause, leaving behind beautiful memories of creativity, joy, and learning through fun.

Story Telling Competition (L K G & U K G)

Our little ones from LKG and UKG enthusiastically participated in the Storytelling Competition held at our school. The children came dressed as their favorite characters and narrated short stories with great confidence and expression. Their sweet voices, actions, and creativity filled the atmosphere with joy. The event helped in building their language skills, imagination, and confidence. It was a delightful and memorable experience for both the participants and the audience.

Diwali Celebration

As a mark of secularism and oneness, our school joyfully celebrated Deepavali, the festival of lights. The program began with a prayer song, invoking peace and positivity among all. The lighting of candles followed, symbolizing the victory of light over darkness and good over evil. A short and meaningful program was presented, highlighting the significance of the day. Our Principal addressed the gathering and shared inspiring words about the true essence of Deepavali — spreading light, happiness, and unity. Parent–Teacher Meeting (PTM)

Our school conducted a Parent–Teacher Meeting to strengthen the bond between parents and teachers and to discuss students’ overall progress. The meeting provided a valuable platform for parents to understand their child’s academic performance, behavior, and participation in school activities. Teachers shared feedback and suggestions to help students improve and excel. Parents actively participated and appreciated the efforts of the school in nurturing their children’s growth and learning. Our school celebrated Valmiki Jayanti with reverence and enthusiasm to honor the birth anniversary of Maharshi Valmiki, the great sage and author of the Ramayana. The program began with a welcome speech, followed by a talk on the significance of the day, highlighting Valmiki’s contribution to literature and moral values. The staff offered flowers to his portrait as a mark of respect and devotion. The celebration created a peaceful and reflective atmosphere, reminding everyone of the timeless teachings of Maharshi Valmiki.

Our school celebrated Gandhi Jayanti with great respect and devotion to mark the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of our Nation. The day began with speeches and offerings dedicated to Gandhiji, reflecting on his ideals of truth, peace, and non-violence. Our Principal delivered an inspiring message on how Gandhiji’s path of non-violence can be followed in our daily lives. The celebration was a meaningful tribute to his teachings and a reminder to walk in the path of simplicity and righteousness.

“A teacher takes a hand, opens a mind, and touches a heart.” This thought beautifully sums up the spirit of our Teachers’ Day celebration. The day was filled with joy, gratitude, and admiration for the teachers who guide and inspire students every day. The program was wonderfully organized by the students, with the council leaders taking the lead in planning and coordinating every detail. A special highlight of the celebration was the honoring of one of our retired teachers. It was a heartwarming moment as the school community came together to express gratitude and respect for the years of dedicated service and guidance. One of the highlights of the day was the series of dance performances. Each performance was vibrant, creative, and full of energy. Another touching moment was when the teachers received thoughtful gifts from students. This heartfelt gesture spoke volumes about the love and respect the students hold for their mentors. It was a day that reminded us of the power of respect, gratitude, and appreciation. The memories created on this Teachers’ Day will surely be cherished by everyone for a long time.

Unlocking the Power of Words! Today, our school conducted the much-awaited Spell Bee Competition for Classes 1 to 4, creating an atmosphere of excitement and learning. The competition aimed to enhance students’ vocabulary, spelling accuracy, and confidence in using the English language. Young spellers showcased their talent and presence of mind as they tackled words with enthusiasm and determination. The event not only tested their spelling skills but also encouraged them to develop a love for language and learning. The Spell Bee was truly a celebration of words, inspiring students to enrich their vocabulary and sharpen their communication skills. Every participant emerged a winner by gaining confidence and knowledge through this enriching experience.

Today, we celebrated our Nation’s 79th Independence Day with great pride and patriotism. The programme began with the flag hoisting by our distinguished guests, followed by the soulful Dhwaj Geet. A disciplined march past showcased the unity and dedication of our students. The audience was reminded of the significance of the day through a thoughtful address, followed by a melodious patriotic song and a graceful dance performance. Students then brought history alive through character portrayals of freedom fighters, leaving everyone inspired. After this, our Chief Guest delivered an inspiring speech, encouraging students to uphold the values of freedom and responsibility. The celebration concluded with an energetic dance performance, filling hearts with national pride. It was truly a day of remembrance, respect, and celebration of our hard-earned freedom.

DIAMOND JUBILEE INAUGURATION

A Milestone of Glory and GrowthOn Monday, 4th August 2025, our school joyfully celebrated the MDES Diamond Jubilee, marking 60 remarkable years of dedicated service in education. The celebration began with a special assembly at 8:30 am, attended by all students and staff. The inauguration was symbolically done by planting a sapling, reflecting our Jubilee theme: “Green Campus Clean Campus” This act was led by Rev. Fr. Evan Gomes (S V D), Principal, and Headmistress, signifying growth, renewal, and environmental commitment. A soulful prayer song sung by the teachers, composed  by our Secretary, Rev. Fr. Edward William Saldana followed by a grand group dance by the students brought life to the occasion. Our Headmistress led the entire school in taking a pledge to maintain a clean campus and to avoid the use of single-use plastic, reinforcing our environmental goals. Written Quiz Competition – Classes 5 to 10 A Written Quiz Competition was organized for students of Classes 5 to 10, aimed at enhancing their general knowledge and critical thinking skills. The quiz covered a wide range of topics from Science, Social Studies, Current Affairs, English, and Logical Reasoning. The objective was to encourage students to go beyond their textbooks and explore the world around them. Students enthusiastically participated in the quiz, showcasing their awareness and curiosity. Each class had a separate question set designed according to their level. The questions tested not just rote knowledge, but also comprehension, observation, and analytical skills. Students were given a set time to complete the quiz, and it was encouraging to see them attempt the questions with full concentration and interest.

Poem Recitation Competition – Classes 1 to 4 The Poem Recitation Competition held for students of Classes 1 to 4 was a vibrant celebration of expression, rhythm, and imagination. With great enthusiasm and confidence, the young learners stepped onto the stage to recite a variety of poems that reflected their innocence, creativity, and growing command over the language. Each child, with clear voice modulation and expressive gestures, brought their chosen poem to life. The event provided an excellent platform to enhance their public speaking abilities and instill a love for poetry from a young age. It was indeed a delightful experience to witness the budding talents shine so brightly on stage!

Splash! Splash! Rainy Day Bash!  Our Pre-Primary classrooms turned into a monsoon wonderland as we celebrated Rainy Day with great excitement and joyful learning! Tiny tots arrived wearing colourful raincoats and holding umbrellas, lighting up the day with their smiles and curiosity. The classrooms were filled with rainy-day vibes as children engaged in: *Rainy season-themed coloring and craft work. *Talks and interactions about rain, clouds, and rainy clothes. *Learning new words and identifying monsoon elements. The celebration helped our young learners connect with nature, build awareness about the season, and enjoy a day of experiential learning. The Rainy Day Bash was not only fun-filled but also educational!

Building Stronger Partnerships A successful Parent-Teacher Meeting was held on Saturday, July 19th, 2025, for Classes 1 to 10. The meeting served as a valuable platform for open and productive conversations between parents and teachers, focusing on the academic progress and overall development of students. During the meeting, teachers shared anecdotal records to provide insights into each child’s learning journey, behavior, and participation in school activities. Parents were also informed about the upcoming SOF (Science Olympiad Foundation) competitions, encouraging them to motivate their children to take part in such enriching opportunities. We thank all parents for their active involvement and continuous support in nurturing the growth and success of our students.

A Day of Pride and Responsibility The Investiture Ceremony of our school was successfully conducted on Thursday, 17th July 2025, with great enthusiasm and dignity. It was a proud moment as our newly elected student council took the oath to uphold the values and responsibilities entrusted to them. The event began with a welcome address, followed by the ceremonial pinning of badges and the oath-taking ceremony. The Secretary Rev. Fr. Edward William Saldanha inspired the young leaders with motivating words, highlighting the importance of discipline, leadership, and service. The ceremony concluded with the National anthem and a sense of pride among all students and staff. It was indeed a memorable and successful event that marked the beginning of a new chapter of student leadership.

Our school recently hosted a clay modelling competition, where students showcased their artistic talents and creativity. The theme “Nature” inspired students to think out of the box and create stunning models that reflected the beauty of the natural world. From intricate sculptures of animals and birds to detailed replicas of plants and landscapes, the models on display were truly impressive. The competition encouraged students to think creatively, develop their fine motor skills, and appreciate the wonders of nature.
